Gifts of Appreciated Stock Can Benefit You While Benefitting the Innocent!
Giving appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares held more than one year can provide an immediate benefit to the Innocence Project of Minnesota and may provide you with significant tax benefits too.
You may be able to avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of the donated asset, and may claim a deduction for the current fair market value of the stock or other asset, up to 30 percent of adjusted gross income.
